A Welcome Message from our President:
We welcome the opportunity to meet you and are excited to hear your voices!
Joining the PTSA will give you the opportunity express your point of view, and we love to hear from students, parents, teachers and administrators in a different forum. See the Membership tab for details.
If you would like to serve on one of our numerous committees, the State PTA is offering "Learn to Lead with PTA ~ 2010 Summer Leadership Institute." This training is offered to all elected PTA leaders, committee chairs, and other interested PTA members. If you are interested in attending one of these great training opportunities, click HERE for the registration form and more information. Forms should be sent to Kelly Piatt, 8 Pickering Trail, Hockessin DE 19707, so that registration payment can be made through the AIHS PTSA. Registrations must be submitted no later than July 20th in order for payments to be made prior to the July 24th registration deadline.
Our PTSA committees understand and appreciate how dedicated you are to the school. In fact, many of our committees support a variety of activities and initiatives (e.g., the Newsletter, Reflections, AfterProm, Treats for Troops, Campus Beautification, and much more). Our committees need parent, student and teacher support, and we will benefit from hearing your ideas and input to make our events and initiatives even more valuable for the school and be able to carry on our wonderful traditions! Please, come out and attend our meetings!
"You Cannot Hide That Tiger Pride!"
Sincerely,
Cheryl Hagerty, President PTSA
AFTER PROM: A PARTY FOR PREVENTION!

Current Events:
Treats for Troops:
Do you know a local soldier or have a family member currently stationed overseas? We'd like to send them a care package filled with goodies! If you have someone overseas you'd like us to "treat," please send their name and address to Linda Bradford at lo.bradford@verizon.net.
Check out our Treats for Troops page for items that can be donated for delivery to the Troops! Help spread AI Tiger Pride to our Troops!
Student Volunteer Opportunities:
August 26th, 11:30am - 5:00pm - Freshmen & New Student Open House: We will need LOTS of students to help out that day. You'll get to give tours of the school, taking new students around to their upcoming classes, showing them the ins and outs of AI High! Afterward, come join the PTSA for pizza and refreshments before the 6:00pm PTSA meeting and all the other AIHS activities that evening.
Check back frequently -- any volunteer hours accumulated after April 1, 2010, will be credited to the 2010-2011 year for Student Rewards!
** We have also posted some guidelines and a time log for volunteers ~ these will help prepare you to help the PTSA!
Did You Know? The PTSA in the past year was able to provide funding to various teachers and the school for things like books on tape, Ti-83 calculators, magazines for the foreign language classes, probes for science classes, funding for the entrepreneurial classes, and the list continues. These are just a few of the ways we work to support the high school and, in effect, our children's education at A.I. duPont High School!
