PTSA Mission Statement

The PTSA is an important part of AI duPont high school. The organization is comprised of Parents, Teachers and most importantly Students working together, side by side, to enhance our school community. The PTSA is a great way for students to become involved in and have an active voice in their school. It is also an excellent way for students to take the opportunity to:

♦ establish and exhibit leadership skills;

♦ work on a variety of projects;

♦ earn volunteer hours; and

♦ have another activity to include on their college application or resume.

 The PTSA is an “all inclusive organization.” All are welcome and encouraged to join!

We take “Tiger Pride” in sponsoring and funding numerous student and school activities:

♦ Creates and publishes the School Newsletter.

♦ Supports student dances, including the much anticipated “After-Prom,” encouraging student safety at prom time by providing a safe place to go after the prom is over.

♦ Sponsors the PTSA Student Directory, which includes a “Parent Pledge” supporting non-use of alcohol or drugs in the home of high school students and high school guests.

♦ Annually sponsors the National PTA Reflections Competition.

♦ Sponsors “Academic Awards Night” for students at the end of each school year.

♦ Sponsors numerous Staff Appreciation events throughout the year.

♦ Helps provide books and media for our school Library.
