There are a variety of different reasons why we host fundraisers, although the primary reason is obvious: to raise money to support our organization. There are other reasons, as well, and the PTSA tries to incorporate all these into the fundraisers we host.
Another important reason is to build a sense of community within the A.I. family. Our Quarter Auction this past fall provided a fun event for A.I. families to come to AND it raised almost $2,000 for our programs.
We currently have scheduled an "End of Mid-Term" fundraiser event at Stratosphere Trampoline Park, where the children can come out and celebrate the end of the semester and burn off some of that excess energy which built up while they were studying and taking mid-terms.
We are also exploring the possibility of hosting a Read-A-Thon or a 5k event to encourage the children to read more and be more active while raising funds for the school. Or how about hosting a happy hour or beef-n-beer toward the end of the school year for the parents to get together to celebrate?
Anyway you look at it, our goals in all fundraising activities go beyond just raising money for our programs, they are designed to involve the students, the parents, the staff and unit us all as a community because we all know it takes a village to raise a child!
