Top Questions About After Prom

What is the After Prom?

Every spring, a dedicated and fun-loving group of parents and friends of A.I. put on a party at A.I. after the Junior/Senior Prom. It is an A.I. tradition that has become known as "the most eagerly anticipated event of the year."

Why should you care?

Aside from being an evening to remember; filled with friends, laughs and enjoyment for the students, it is a safe and effective solution to prevent drinking and driving.

When is the After Prom?

Immediately after the Prom until approximately 2:30 a.m..  For 2016, the Prom will be held at the duPont Country Club on May 20, 2016.

Who can attend the After Prom?

Any student or guest that attends A.I. Junior/Senior prom may attend the After Prom. The admission price is included with the Prom ticket. A.I. Juniors or Seniors that do not wish to attend the prom may purchase an "After Prom Only" ticket.

What makes this event so special?

The After Prom committee turns the school into a "big kid" playground with plenty of games, music and food for the students to enjoy.

Who sponsors the After Prom?

The PTSA sponsors the event with support from the school administration, faculty and staff.  However, this party takes many months of planning and effort to pull together.  That job falls to the After Prom Committee, which is made up of parents and friends of A.I.

Why should you get involved, especially if your student is not a Junior or Senior?

One reason is to meet a great group of A.I. parents that share a common desire to continue another amazing A.I. tradition. Also, you will be demonstrating to your teenager the importance of volunteering your time and energy for the benefit of others.

What sort of "help" is needed?

"Many hands make light work." With that in mind, the After Prom Committee needs all sorts of volunteers. Your level of involvement is up to you. If you can only spare a couple of hours of time here and there, no problem ~~ we appreciate all the help we get!

Are cash donations accepted?

Absolutely! Contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Contributions can be made using the PTSA PayPal Account. If you prefer to mail your donation, you may choose the "offline payment" option and mail your check in to: AI duPont PTSA, Attn: Treasurer; 50 Hillside Rd; Greenville, DE19807.

Volunteer Opportunities

Quarter Auction Volunteers Needed!

This year's Quarter Auction will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the A.I. High School Cafeteria. Last year we raised over $2,000 to fund our programs and everyone who came out had a GREAT time!

We are actively looking for volunteers for this event. There are a variety of time slots available: before, during and after the event. If you or your student would like to help, please visit our Sign Up Genius to see the available areas where we need help.

As a volunteer, you will receive ONE PADDLE for FREE to participate in the Quarter Auction so if you are coming with your family or a friend, consider volunteering to get that extra paddle and change to win! Your family can bid while you help out, or you can help before or after the event if you want to bid for yourself!

Concession Stand Sign Ups

The time is upon us again for the outside concession stand to start up!

With the Fall season starting on September 13 with the first home soccer game (JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!), the Tiger Boosters is making an all call for your donation of TIME and ENERGY to man the concession stand. Whether you just have a few hours to spare (I know, wishful thinking for all of us!) or you plan on going to your child's events, consider coming out and supporting the Tiger Boosters by signing up to work at the concession stand. You'll get to meet some new people, put some faces to names you already know and best of all, you'll be supporting your child's school and sports team.

Please visit Sign Up Genius HERE to view the available dates and sign up for your preferred spot today (before it is GONE!)

IF YOU ARE A STUDENT and need volunteer hours, all time is recorded and reported!
