     ♦ The volunteer accumulation period for the 2009-2010 school year has ended.  Awards will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony on May 12th. 

     ♦ All volunteer hours accumulated during the remainder of this school year will count toward next year's award requirements.

     ♦ Accumulation Period for Volunteer Hours & Meeting Attendance is from April, 2009 through March, 2010.

     ♦ Students must be a member of the PTSA for the 2009-2010 school year in order to be eligible for any of the Student Service Awards.

 

Service Award -  Awarded to any student who is a member of the PTSA and meets the following commitments:

     ♦ Attends a minimum of four PTSA meetings.

     ♦ Volunteers for a minimum of 15 hours of active participation in any PTSA-approved events or projects.

    $10 gift card awarded.

 

Distinguished Service Award - Awarded to any student who is a member of the PTSA and demonstrates the following commitments:

     ♦ Attends a minimum of four PTSA meetings.

     ♦ Volunteers for a minimum of 50 hours of active participation in any PTSA-approved events or projects.

     ♦ $25 gift card awarded.

 

Junior Leadership Award - Awarded to any junior student who is a member of the PTSA and demonstrates the following commitments:

     ♦ Attends a minimum of four PTSA meetings.

     ♦ Volunteers for a minimum of 25 hours of active participation in any PTSA-approved events or projects.

     ♦ Assumes the role of student officer and/or chairperson for one of the PTSA-sponsored events or projects.

    $25 gift card awarded.

 

Outstanding Senior Service Award – Awarded to any outstanding senior student who is a member of the PTSA and demonstrates the following commitments:

     ♦ Has dedicated a minimum of three years of service to the PTSA.

     ♦ Attends a minimum of four PTSA meetings.

     ♦ Volunteers for a minimum of 15 hours of active participation in any PTSA-approved events or projects.

     ♦ Assumes the role of student officer and/or chairperson for one of the PTSA sponsored events or projects.

     ♦ Has previously been awarded a Service Award and/or Leadership Award.

     ♦ $25 gift card awarded.

 

General Guidelines to all students:

     ♦ Maintaining all volunteer hours will be the responsibility of each student.  Student Log (pdf) download

     ♦ Periodic dates for submitting volunteer hours to the PTSA awards committee will be designated throughout the school year.

     ♦ Volunteer hours must be verified and signed off by the adult event chairperson.

 

The following dates will be used as deadlines for submitting volunteer hours:

March 31, 2010 – All students should submit their volunteer hours.

April 14, 2010 – PTSA Award Committee will review hours submitted and confirm documented hours with each student.

April 30, 2010 – Cut off for submitting any hours not included previously.

May 12, 2010 – Alexis I. duPont Awards ceremony will be held!
